Day 28 - Miracles In The First Month!

Wow, it's hard to believe that a full month has gone by since Neil's accident on Sat., Jan. 15. The time seemed to drag on so slow at the beginning while we waited and sat together for days, and yet looking back, it's amazing how fast the time went!

It is so encouraging to see how far Neil has improved already, and all we can do is say "Thank you God!"

Neil went from having no feeling or movement at all from his neck down, to now being able to sit up, walk, feed himself, play games, etc! Wow! We are all so grateful!

To remind us of Neil's progress, here are a few photos from one month ago...

AND THEN a video taken today!

Yup, happy dance!! Yay God!!

Neil tells us how he is so thankful for the all the care, support and therapy that he's getting. He goes for occupational therapy in the mornings - working on fine motor skills in his hands and strength testing. After lunch, he spends time doing physiotherapy - today he did his first set of stairs with hand rails. They have him doing balance work, stretches, walking with a walker more often. He said it feels good to walk although it's super exhausting. (He commented on how stiff and sore he feels tonight. He's working hard!) There seems to be lingering numbness in different places, so hopefully that will resolve. His neck is feeling quite good. Dr's say he will stay in the brace for 2+ more weeks. His throat is still healing from the surgery, and his voice is weak. That should heal up too though. 😊

Neil wants me to tell you all, "Thank you for your prayers. I'm doing really good in here, and am happy." He appreciates all the texts and messages and visits to the parking lot. Last weekend, most of our family drove down to be with Neil and had lunch together on the top floor of the parkade in the sunshine (eventhough it was cold, and we all had blankets). Ryan and some friends drove down from Edmonton to spend some time with him too. He laughed so much and was so encouraged by the visits. The love and emotional encouragement are so valuable!

Thanks again for joining us on this journey. I hope you are as encouraged we are in seeing God's answers to our prayers!

Hugs and thanks! 😊❤️🙏
